Remember where you were ten years ago. See how far God has brought you. You were homeless, friendless, and jobless. You were drowning in debt. You were depressed, addicted, hopeless, and aimless. You begged family for money so you wouldn’t get your car repossessed. You were on the verge of dropping out of college. You made feeble attempts to pay back what you owed in doctor’s bills, but you knew it was pointless. Collectors harassed you. Church members got fed up with you. Your roommates hated you. You couldn’t hold down a job to save your life. You slept in your car. You drank every night. You sat in parks and on bus stop benches, not knowing what to do with yourself. Everything you touched turned to crap.

Now where are you? The debts are gone. You have a retirement fund. You graduated from college with a 3.75 GPA. You lost 40 pounds. You’ve ran 5Ks, served in the community, and tended to the sick and dying. None of this could have ever happened if not for the grace of God and the prayers of his people. God delivered you, even though you did nothing to deserve it. What looked like bitter defeat was only the starting line. No more lying face down in the mud. You are more than a conqueror. You have a destiny, a hope, and a future. God did not bring you out of the wilderness for your glory, but so you could carry a divine burden for the forgotten. You were made to serve. The only way to help others is to stay above ground.
