Regrets

Many currently in the later years of their lives did everything right. They followed the blueprint of the American dream. They made good grades in school, got scholarships to good colleges, got good jobs in the corporate world, and retired comfortably in their 60’s. They went on cruises and spent time on the golf course. They were able to enjoy their grandchildren and travel the country in RVs and tour buses. Soon after, this generation saw the very late years. These years are devoted to watching game shows, staring out the window, and falling on what feels like an almost daily basis. Did any of these people do anything wrong? Of course not. With that being said, one has to wonder what sorts of regrets people face toward the end of their lives. There must be more to those final years than popping pills, frequent naps, and multiple trips to the hospital. What the next few decades for the coming generations will look like is still unknown. Those of us who have yet to enter the final years of our lives have the present to shape what those last moments will be like for us.
