Empowerment

Why are home care services so needed in this day and age? I believe the answer is because families want the peace of mind that their aging loved ones are being taken care of in a manner that preserves the dignity of the elder. The need for empowerment among the aging generation is vital to their well being. Home care services bring the solution directly to the client. An elder feels a greater sense of control and autonomy when they are being served in their home. Recreating empowerment in an institutional setting can sometimes be a challenge. Not all elders have the option of a home care service. However, a growing number of choices for the aging in the decades to come will help ensure a better quality of life for those in their later years. My hope for the services I provide would be one more alternative for families contemplating care options for their relatives in need. By making these services affordable and individualized, the people I serve remain in charge of their lives without fear of losing their independence.
